Hampton Court Palace in London

Today we explored Hampton Court Palace, in London.

Built in the 16th century, the Palace in Richmond upon Thames was once the home of King Henry VIII and his many wives. The 60 acres of gardens also includes a huge manmade lake and the UK’s oldest hedge maze.

  • I just adore Hampton Court Palace. I love the architecture and the two histories of it! What an incredible place.

    • Such an amazing place! I didn’t even know that it existed. I think I need to visit some more palaces and castles 🙂

      • I am a huge fan of British castles and palaces so I recommend you do so!

        • Any in particular that I should have on my list?

          • Kew Palace in Kew Gardens, because it is incredible to imagine the royal family living in such a cosy, non palace like palace!

The Tower of London is incredible but outside London I would recommend Hever Castle and Leeds Castle, both in Kent.

          • Thanks! I’m going to make a note of all those.

            Leeds Castle looks pretty amazing.

  • Isn’t Hampton Court simply beautiful? Well and truly worthy of a royal residence!

    • Such an amazing place! I’m going to have to go back during the summer, and walk to the end of the long lake.
